Summary
re Buzz personalizes notification cues by matching notification content against cue rules
(regex patterns) you create. When a notification matches, the app plays your custom cue — a
vibration pattern or a tone. With "Mute original" enabled on a rule, and with Do Not Disturb
access granted, matching notifications are silenced by a brief Do Not Disturb window and a
short snooze: the original sound and vibration are suppressed and the notification quietly
returns to the shade; only your cue plays. The app itself does not connect to any server,
except Google Play services including AdMob and Play IAP.
Data stored on your device
All data is stored locally in an on-device database. None of it is transmitted to any server
controlled by the developer.
- Cue rules — the regex patterns, optional notes, app scopes, cue settings
(vibration waveform or tone, mute-original flag) and pause states you write.
- Cue history — the time of the cue, the source app, and the matched rule.
Notification content itself is never stored.
- Preferences — your dark mode setting and your purchase status cache.
Permissions the app uses
- Notification access (listener) — a special access, granted in the
system's Notification access settings. It lets the app read posted notifications to match
them against your rules and play your cues. You can change or revoke it at any time.
- Do Not Disturb access — a special access, granted in the system's Do
Not Disturb app settings. Required only for the "Mute original" feature: a brief Do Not
Disturb window suppresses the original notification's sound and vibration for matches. You
can change or revoke it at any time.
- Vibrate — plays the vibration cues.
Third-party services
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — the app displays native advertisements in its
lists. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve ads. See
Google's Ads policy for details.
Ad serving can be disabled by upgrading to the Pro version.
- Google Play IAP — the Pro upgrade (Annual or Lifetime plan) uses the Play
IAP services for the app. No data is transmitted beyond the standard Play Store services.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, or sell any of the following:
- Your rules or cue history — these never leave your device.
- Notification content — matched content is used only in memory to trigger cues and is
never stored or transmitted.
- Personal information, account details, or contact data.
- Usage analytics or crash reports.
Data deletion
All your data are stored locally. You can delete all cue records at any time via
Menu > Clear History in the app, and delete individual rules directly in
their lists. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
